Shift Your Career

Clarify → Rebalance → Experiment. Make a career shift that fits your life — and keeps you earning.

Overview

Career change in the arts is rarely a single leap. It's a series of small, strategic moves: clearer language for what you want, cleaner boundaries around what your life needs, and low‑risk experiments that generate real data (not just hope). In this workshop you'll build a *30‑day shift plan* designed to protect income while you test your next lane.

Curriculum

  • Clarify: Write a simple throughline (what you're building towards) + a "not this" line (what you're no longer available for)
  • Rebalance: Set your shift constraints (time, money floor, energy) so your plan is sustainable
  • Experiment: Design 1–3 small tests, including a 5-conversation sprint that helps you discover what you can't yet see

Who This Is For

  1. Freelancers and portfolio‑career creatives who want a clearer next chapter without losing stability
  2. In‑house arts professionals considering a role, scope, or sector shift (and needing a plan that fits real life)
  3. Producers who want to generate opportunities, not just apply into a void

What You'll Achieve

  • Direction you can explain simply (to yourself and other people)
  • A practical rebalancing rule‑set so change work doesn't wipe you out
  • Experiments that create momentum, contacts, and proof

What You'll Walk Away With

  • A throughline statement + "not this" line
  • Your 3 constraints (money floor, time, energy)
  • A 30‑day experiment plan (with dates) + a 5‑conversation sprint list
